Join us on July 25, 2009 for a rally in Amsterdam at Museumplein in support of the Iranian people and in condemnation of the human rights abuses being committed by the Iranian government. Op zaterdag 25 juli aanstaande zal in Amsterdam op het Museumplein (12h30-15h00) een grote nationale manifestatie plaatsvinden in reactie op de mensenrechtenschendingen die volgden op de presidentsverkiezingen van 12 juni.
Met steun van organisaties zoals International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, Iranian League for Defense of Human Rights (LDDHI), Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Reporters without Borders, PeaceJam, FIDH, Nobel Women’s Initiative, Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), maar ook van prominente Iraniërs zoals de Nobelprijswinnares Shirin Ebadi zullen in verschillende landen wereldwijd deze ‘Global Day of Action for Human Rights in Iran’ worden georganiseerd.
Onder de aanwezigen zijn Iraanse en Nederlandse artiesten, schrijvers, politici en journalisten en wij verwachten een divers publiek van enkele duizenden mensen.
Om ook buiten de Iraanse gemeenschap bewustwording en participatie te creëren hebben wij de “Iranian + 1″ actie opgezet wat inhoudt dat iedere Iraanse bezoeker gevraagd wordt om ook een niet-Iraanse kennis mee te nemen.
Het is belangrijk om gebruik te maken van deze dag om aandacht te vragen en om de aandacht van de media vast te kunnen houden voor de schendingen van mensenrechten in Iran.

By Car
Coming from outside Amsterdam, take the A10 Ring Road. From the A10 motorway, take exit S108, and then turn right onto Amstelveenweg. At Stadionplein, bear right, and turn left at the traffic lights. At the roundabout next to Haarlemmermeerstation, take the second right, into Cornelis Krusemanstraat. Continue down this street, which becomes the Lairessestraat, until you reach Museumplein.
Parking
There are several parking garages around Museumplein. The nearest parking space is the Museumplein (Museum Square) Parking Garage:
The entrance to this underground parking garage is on Van Baerlestraat. From the A10 Ring Road you take the S108 exit and follow the P signs. The garage is open 24 hours a day. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday you can enter the garage until 1.00 a.m., and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 2.30 a.m.
On-street parking
Of course, you can also search for an on-street parking place near the Museumplein. Please note that all parking in the centre of Amsterdam is metered from Monday through Saturday, 9.00 to 24.00. For rates, please see www.bereikbaaramsterdam.nl.
