LIVE MUSIC with The Cafe Mezrab Masters featuring Sahand Sahebdivani
Branko Galoic (Croatia / NL)
There’s a rumour that Croatians and Persians descend from the same tribe. Whether that’s true or not is a matter for ethnologists to fight over, all we know is that both like to sing and dance. Branko moved from Croatia to the Netherlands and mixes his Balkan-style with music from all over the globe.
Sahand Sahebdivani (Iran / NL)
Sahand is a well known storyteller and musician in the Amsterdam scene. With various bands (Caspian Hat Dance, Babak-o-Doestan, Mezrab Connection) he’s toured in the Netherlands and various European countries. His dream is to give an electric Tar concert in the ruins of the Persepolis.
Pablo Fagundez – (Uruguay/NL)
Pablo is no stranger to the fight against injustice, but after he left his home country of Uruguay he found that it’s much easier to reach man’s heart with music that makes him laugh and cry. He’s played in big concert halls, small gypsy villages, policeman’s barbecues and squatter’s eviction parties. Though he’s never visited Tehran he’s been named an honorary bache-mahal of Darwaz Doulab.
